Book is due soon

My historical novel Winter of the Metal People will be available in paperback and e-book sometime in June 2013. At left is the completed book cover, with the buffalo dancer artwork by a Puebloan artist, Persingula Tafoya of Kewa Pueblo. The cover's design with the sixteenth-century map of the region in Mexico from which Coronado departed is by Lawrence Knorr of Sunbury Press,  the book's publisher.
The book's subtitle is "The untold story of America's first Indian war."
Xalisco, now known as Jalisco and visible at the bottom of the map, was part of the Province of Nueva Galacia, of which Coronado was governor in 1540.
