My historical novel Winter of the Metal People has been accepted by Sunbury Press Inc., an independent publishing house in Pennsylvania, for publication in early 2013.
Decisions still need to be made on the cover design, although I remain hopeful that Sunbury Press will use the artwork at left created by Persingula Tafoya of Kewa Pueblo. My intent all along has been to use a Pueblo artist for the cover because the historical novel tells the Puebloan point of view about the 1540-42 Coronado expedition into New Mexico and the Tiguex War that resulted against Pueblo tribes.
Sunbury Press, headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pa., was established in 2004. It is a publisher of trade paperback and digital books featuring established and emerging authors in many fiction and non-fiction categories. Sunbury's books are sold through leading booksellers and online worldwide.
